Linking New Sierra Leoneans to available resources
SLAA has an official website (www.slaa.ca), a Facebook page (SLAA: Sierra Leone Association of Alberta), and a Whatsapp platform where members of the association are updated on current developments within the community, and in other parts of Canada.
The executive committee – through the Public Relations Officers (PROs) – also disseminates public notices and advisories from the various levels of government (municipal, provincial, and federal) and other agencies and organizations.
The Public Relations (PR) Team supplements official publications with video translations of the messages, in Sierra Leone’s lingua franca which is Krio.
The association not only conveys public notices and referrals, but also explains their details on its social media platform. Members are assured that they can call upon executive members and volunteers for any assistance they may need in accessing resources which are available as advertised.
